Leeds City Council’s Business and Patents Information provide services for existing businesses, entrepreneurs, inventors and those looking to start a small business.
Our services include business to business mailing lists based on the MINT or FAME databases, which hold millions of records of UK businesses.
Lists can be supplied electronically or in printed form using one or a combination of parameters including location, sector, number of employees, turnover and company directors.
We also produce an up to date directory of Top Employers in Leeds and Yorkshire, as well as providing access to detailed company accounts and the latest market research.
Mintel and Key Note consumer and industry reports are available from the Information Centre at the Central Library.
To view any of our resources online, visit: www.leeds.gov.uk/onlineresources
Access is free using a Leeds Library membership card.
We can also help you put a value on your own assets in the form of brand, copyright, new products – and, importantly, how to avoid infringing others’ intellectual property.
Our nationally acclaimed services offer guidance on applying for patents, trademarks, design and copyright, free clinics with a CIPA Patent Attorney, searches to establish whether your brand or invention is new.
Inventors and entrepreneurs can attend our regular networking events at the Central Library, including the monthly Leeds Inventors Group, and our fortnightly Enterprise Group, which offers workshops on becoming self employed and business start up basics.
All services are free or low cost. For a free quote or more information: Tel: 0113 247 8266, email: piu@leeds.gov.uk
