As a relocation destination and a city for new businesses, office space in Leeds offers the best value for money in Europe. This is according to the latest European Cities Monitor.

It is the third consecutive year that office space in Leeds has been voted best value for money. The city has also risen in the overall rankings of best cities in Europe to locate a business today. From 28 in 2008, Leeds now ranks at 23 in the overall list.

According to the European Cities Monitor, 36% of companies confirmed that value for money of office space is a key factor in deciding where to locate a business.

The city has a wide range of new and refurbished offices available, including major office developments in Leeds city centre.

Much of the office space in Leeds has been built and refurbished to the highest environmental standards, making it particularly attractive to businesses aiming to relocate and base themselves in a city that combines a thriving economy, a quality working environment and excellent transport connections.

Leeds has the UK’s busiest train station outside London, easy access to an international airport as well as fast access to the national motorway network. These transport links make the city an appealing location for businesses seeking to establish a base in the north.

External Factors

Such an appeal is complemented by competitive office space prices. Due to the wide choice available, office space in Leeds can accommodate most businesses and this brings with it flexibility in cost.

Headline rents for grade A office space in Leeds are £26 per sq ft for city centre offices and £18 for out-of-town locations but occupiers can negotiate excellent deals to include rent free periods, fit outs and flexible terms.
