School pupils across Leeds are to be given opportunities to develop their entrepreneurial skills for the work environment, as a result of a £1 million grant from Leeds Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI) programme.
Working with schools in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the city, the Leeds LEGI programme aims to help raise the pupil's aspirations, develop enterprise and employability skills and to educate students about different options for school leavers.
The money will be used to fund eight 'enterprise ambassadors' who will work with teachers to ensure that enterprise becomes an integral part of the curriculum. Education Leeds will be leading on this project ensuring that schools have all the necessary resources and providing advice and support for teachers.
